Benjamin Franklin created the Junto as a club to share ideas and conversations for improving lives and communities. Wow! The original blogger! Just imagine if Benjamin Franklin could Tweet today! That would be great! His rules included that discussions and writings be conducted in the sincere spirit of inquiry, without dispute or desire to win. The group was described as “friends with many interests but linked by a hunger for self improvement.” Benjamin Franklin picked thirteen virtues to live by — temperance, frugality, justice, moderation to name a few, and hoped to inspire others to better their lives.
